I was a cry it out kid. My dad never let my mother come to me in the night if I cried. I would wake up on the floor still crying apparently. They said oops and sorry, later, you know first children! It's why i love holding kids today. I wish my mom had just played it off as like, "I plan to give you love, nurturing, and just enough dysfunction to make you funny" then I'd at least know she did it on purpose/
